Our CEO Featured in Oregon Entrepreneurs Network: A Story of Resilience in Entrepreneurship

We’re proud to share that OEN Member News recently highlighted Phosio and our founder, Omid Sadeghi, in a feature story titled “A Story of Resilience: How Phosio Has Weathered the Ups and Downs of Entrepreneurship.”

The article captures Omid’s journey from arriving in the U.S. in 2013 to pursue a PhD in materials chemistry at Oregon State University, to eventually building Phosio into a company with breakthrough technology in optical coatings.

What began as an idea for new semiconductor materials evolved into a mission to transform augmented reality (AR) devices with premium optical coatings—making AR glasses lighter, sleeker, and more practical. Along the way, Omid and the Phosio team faced both victories and setbacks: early NSF grants, the rollercoaster of startup funding, unexpected challenges like the Silicon Valley Bank collapse, and ultimately, the resilience that kept the company moving forward.

“I’m excited to join Phosio and contribute to their advanced materials technology platform,” said O’Keeffe. “Phosio’s approach has the potential to transform how we interact with AI through AR glasses in everyday life”.
